Common Questions
How do I play? Take turns tapping the lines between dots. When you complete the fourth side of a box, you capture it and earn another turn. The player with the most points at the end wins!
What is Cat Scratch mode? Hidden hazards and treats lurk beneath the grid. As you claim lines, clue numbers reveal how many surprises surround each box. Capturing a hazard costs you points — but treats reward you with bonus points. You can toggle Cat Scratch mode on or off when setting up a game.
Can I play against the computer? Yes! When setting up a new game, set any opponent (Players 2-4) to Easy, Medium, or Hard AI.
How many players can play? 2 to 4 players. You can mix human and AI players however you like — for example, 1 human vs 3 AI opponents, or 4 humans passing the device around.
Can I resume a game later? Yes. Your game is saved automatically. Tap “Resume Game” on the home screen to pick up where you left off.
How do I change the appearance? Go to Settings from the home screen. You can switch between light mode, dark mode, or match your system setting.
Does this app work offline? Yes. Catboxes works entirely offline — no internet connection required.
Does this app collect my data? The app collects anonymous usage analytics (screen views, game configuration, device model) to help improve the game. No personal data, names, emails, or advertising identifiers are collected. See our Privacy Policy for details.
